E A Crouch of McKinney joined his wife here for Christmas with her parents Mr and Mrs W Johnson.
The two year old son of Mr and Mrs Kirby Chandler in Henry Chapel was badly scalded when a vessel of boiling lard spilled on him just before Christmas. He suffered burns to face arms neck and chest but recovered with only scarring and is back on his feet. The mother was rendering lard at the time and household workers understand how easily such accidents occur.
In Markley at 2 30 p m on Sunday Robert Cox wed Maggie Blackman and one minute later Voyles joined with Julia Havens. J W Evans performed both ceremonies. The couples are well regarded locals and friends wish them happiness.
Mr. George Miller returns to activity about a week after a severe leg injury suffered while feeding hogs on his farm. Local notes say he was laid up recently but is recovering and about again.
The first Graham moving picture serial Lucile Love ends last Tuesday with a packed house despite bad weather. Viewers praised the leading actors faces and engaging appeal, while noting the plot remains far from realistic. The new Million Dollar Mystery serial on Saturdays already attracts strong moviegoer interest and eye catching scenery and costumes.
F. F. Parrish and his family have relocated to the Clark residence in west Graham, marking a new chapter for the local household and neighborhood.
Mr Vernon Crow and Miss Amanda Moren were married December 24 1914 in the County Clerk’s office Rev Gaines B Hall pastor of the Presbyterian church performing the ceremony that made them husband and wife Vernon will leave with his fair bride in a few days for western Texas where he has a lucrative position on a large cattle ranch They both have many friends who will regret to see them leave but cordial wishes accompany them to their new home A Friend.
Miss Fannie Black daughter of T. T. Black died at the family home south of town on December 12 after years of poor health. Heart failure caused her death and she was buried in Oak Grove cemetery the next day after arriving from Arkansas a little over a year ago.
Mrs Long died about four o clock Sunday morning at Markley. The Log family recently moved there from Childress. The father and several children are left to mourn. Funeral services were held Monday at 9:30 a m J W Evans preached the sermon.
John Baley Allen, born April 6, 1843 in De Soto County Mississippi, died in Austin Texas last Monday. His remains were shipped to Graham for burial at Oak Grove Cemetery yesterday morning. Funeral services were led by Rev. G. W. Black at his brother J. A. Allen's east Graham residence, where he had lived for years. He served in Co B O M Roberts regiment during the Civil War and later joined the Baptist, then Christian church with his wife. He is survived by friends and relatives who mourn his passing.
J P McKinley spent the early days of the week in Olney on business engagements.
