Orphans Shower Held Despite Bad Weather
A large crowd attended the Orphans Shower at the Methodist church after prayer meeting. Mesdames J. H. Bowman and R. E. Lynch ushered guests in. Flowers decorated the room. Rev. Bowman spoke followed by Rev. Hall prayer. After a collection raised several dollars, Rev. Boswell dismissed the congregation.

Barnes Residence Burns In Northeastern Town
A Cleve Barnes state residence was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin shortly before ten last night. Neighbors found flames bursting from the roof as the house, empty for days due to the Barnes couple visiting relatives, burned with total loss. Firefighters arrived within five minutes and battled the blaze with a long hose stream.
