Eight-year-old Frances Miles Dies After Illness
Frances Elizabeth Miles of Dallas died at R E Lynch's home in Graham after an operation for acute appendicitis. She arrived from Dallas with Grandmother Lynch to spend Christmas with relatives and grew worse Monday night. An operation on Christmas Eve failed to save her. Her father M B Miles, visiting East Texas, learned of the death at the station. Her body was taken to Albany to be laid beside her mother.

Red Cross Work Keeps Pace During Christmas Season
Despite holiday rushes the Red Cross continues steady activity at the room on Christmas day and through the week. The last pillow shipment to Camp Travis left one short, now fulfilled this week. Headquarters reports November boxes satisfactory and work well done. Another supply is ready to ship once a box is secured. This week knitted goods include 6 sweaters 13 mufflers 28 pairs socks and 9 wristlets. The class this afternoon numbered about forty members.

W T McFerran died at his home in Barksdale Texas last Friday. His body was shipped to Oak Grove cemetery for burial Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held at 3 o clock at his daughter Mrs Walter Rehder s home conducted by Rev Mayne. He leaves a wife three daughters and a son. He was a member of the Methodist church and an Odd Fellow. Queen McFerrin accompanied the body.

Quiet Christmas Observed in Town Churches
