How Much Cottonseed Meal For Cows And Hogs

Advice from Progressive Farmer notes dairy cows should not exceed four pounds of cottonseed meal daily for sustained feeding. A cow giving 34 pounds of milk on green pasture may use up to five pounds, but four pounds is preferred with other protein feeds. For hogs, about one pound daily is max, and at most one fourth of the ration should be cottonseed meal. A common mix is one part cottonseed meal to three parts corn by weight.
