The District Conventions Fail To Impress Voters
Last Saturday district conventions across the state nominated several officials in tame affairs. The Fort Worth civil appeals nomination for Judge Irby Dunklin was decided by a lone delegate. Wichita Falls district attorney nominee P. A. Martin was chosen by proxies only, with all delegates from Wichita. John Stevens’s congressional nomination at Decatur came from a small proxy group. The piece laments the absence of representative conventions.

Fine Rains for Young County
Last Sunday Young county was visited by one of the finest rains we have had this year. The Government rain gauge in Graham registered over three inches. Farmers are jubilant over the prospect for a top crop of cotton and the people have been busy putting in fall gardens and turnip seed. There will be time to grow a good fall crop of grass as well as fall forage. The rain will be of untold benefit to all the people. There will probably be no more right hot weather this summer.
