Felony DUI Law Takes Effect August Fourteenth
The Thirty-Eighth Legislature makes it a felony to drive a car or any motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor in cities towns and villages and on public highways. The law becomes effective and in force from and after Tuesday August 14.
Young County melons on display at bank in Graham
Watermelons grown by R D Mote on Uncle Pink Brooks' farm west of Graham were shown at First National Bank this week. Editors believed Parker County melons were sent in, but they were identified as Young County produce. One melon weighed about 80 pounds, all were fine, Triumph variety. Look out for Young County products at the County Fair November 8-10.

First Encampment of County Clubs a Great Success
Eight clubs represented as Miss Blanche Hart Smith’s club boys and girls held a two day encampment at the courthouse and Shawnee Park. Attendees attended Harding Memorial, enjoyed supper and a park program featuring Avants address and music. Tours included Graham plants and a light plant demonstration.
