The Summer Chautauqua at Graham ended last Sunday night after a successful run. The Woodmen Circle workers deserve community thanks for the event. A farewell meeting at the courthouse featured preaching by Rev Graber and music from Ben’s entertainers. Local talk touched on drought with Uncle Parker’s humor and lingering spirits of the old alehouse era.

The local ice men struggle to meet daily demand causing frustration for customers. A Graham ice plant would end dependence on Ft Worth, proving a profitable venture now ahead of another hot season.
Petitions to Brazos county commissioners request issuing 40000 bridge bonds from the earlier election to span the Brazos river at South Bend and Whiskey Creek mouth. The court will submit the election record to the attorney general for approval before bonds are issued and bridges built. County attorney is in correspondence with the AG.
J A Lea two miles east of Wayland Texas uncovers a sandstone ledge on his property with ore carrying three to fifteen dollars per ton. An eighty foot shaft shows a lead of ten dollars per ton plus silver. Deeper layers reveal terra cotta limestone with silver and gold values and a calcite ore carrying lead and gold. Lea pushes work hoping the camp becomes a rich producer.
Grimes Oklahoma August 6 1907 letters Editor Graham Leader enclosed fund check for 2.00 pays arrears and places us to April 1908 with the Leader. We are usually prompt with dues yet somewhat careless about the Leader though eager to receive it weekly as a note from a friend at Graham. O H and Beatrice Parker signed with best wishes.

H Hill and his son George prepare to relocate to Graford where they will operate a mercantile business. He has sold his southwestern town residence to J R Fore for 1400 dollars.
