The Dependon Store pledges to keep prices low at all times and avoid selective deep discounts. They say sales occur only to raise funds or clear excess stock, not to attract crowds with fleeting specials.
Arrangements for a prospect oil and gas well near Graham have been finalized after prior efforts failed to secure a deal with responsible parties. J W Jackson oversees the project as the Ol Company of Houston coordinates drilling about two miles east of Graham, with a depth of about 2200 feet unless a shallower strike is found.

During a Monday night storm Bob Goode tried to cut across lots homeward and faced a lightning bolt from a wire fence. The current burned his hand flesh and scorched above the ankle before it jumped to the earth, but he recovered quickly and reached home with little discomfort. Mrs May Stone and three children left last Friday for a two week visit with relatives.
In Young County, last Monday evening brought heavy rains after 5 p.m. lasting most of the night. The downpour saved crops in many sections, boosting forage crops and cotton prospects, with late cotton benefiting most. The county now shows crop conditions stronger than since 1900, aided by abundant feed crops and orchards. farm incomes look better if prices stay favorable.
