Court Mouse Park Needs Park Maintenance Plan
The town notes the Thurt house park is overgrown this spring and needs steady care. A responsible person should be hired to devote full time to mowing and yard upkeep to restore its appearance. A Newcastle picnic is planned for Tuesday April 26 under IOOF sponsorship with band music and good speakers. Commissioners met last Monday to hear the Tax Collector’s report and to survey a site for a new bridge near Clear Fork south of town.

Adjudged Insane Jesse Kelley in County Court
Jesse Kelley son of Henry Kelley living five miles west of town was adjudged insane by a county court jury last Monday and jailed awaiting transfer to the asylum. Friends had long feared his deteriorating mind and after a struggle two strong men helped bring him to town to the courthouse. Rumor suggests his condition followed being given knockout drops in Fort Worth, but this claim is unverified.

The Priscilla Club held its regular meeting with Mrs. Morris presiding. Members and guests Mesdames Farmer Mayes Vick Hudson Widmayer were present. Music by Mesdames Mc Carroll A A Morrison Mabry entertained attendees. Mrs. Rose to host next week.
Local Wedding in Graham Unites J E Ford and Bettie M Ryan
Last Friday at 6 pm at Prof T P Blankenship’s east Graham home, J E Ford and Bettie M Ryan were married by County Judge E W Fry. The ceremony surprised friends, they now reside at Ford’s home. Ford is long established in the county and with Beckham National Bank. Ryan is an experienced Texas teacher, recently in Graham schools and also a Summer Normal instructor.

The Turn of the Tide Temperance Play at Opera House
On May 20 at the Opera House, Graham High School pupils directed by Superintendent McLendon will stage The Turn of the Tide a temperance play. Proceeds benefit the school equipment fund. W P Hutchings of Chico will soon move with family to join Graham Hardware Company.

Miss Bulaney Dies After Long Illness at Loving Home
Gone to Her Reward Miss Bulaney died at her mother Mrs C L Lindsey near Loving at 4 am Friday April 15 of dropsy of the heart after more than a year of illness. Born May 18 1387 she was a Methodist at Hawkins Chapel and praised for fortitude and faith. Before death she gathered family and friends to read a Bible chapter offer a prayer and express happiness, asking all to meet her in heaven.

Sermons at First Presbyterian Church On Sunday
Services were held in the First Presbyterian church Sunday 17th led by Rev. McAdie of Mineral Wells. He preached two fervent sermons on The Power of Prayer in the morning and The Greatness of God as seen in the Starry Heavens in the evening. Special music by the choir blessed the morning service and a duet by Mr and Mrs Rose graced the evening service.
