State Unemployment Trust Fund Receives Over One Million
Charleston report states the state department of unemployment compensation added 1,307,000 to its trust fund in the U S treasury. The balance rose to 5,663,467 78 as of August 21 with benefits to be paid after January 1. Industries paid 1,537,111 52 in August and delinquent contribution interest totaled 468 77.

Philippi, Sept. 15. Ray Humphreys 19 of Moatsville waived a preliminary hearing on a manslaughter charge and was released on $1000 bond from Barbour county jail after an accident on Bonica road near Philippi that killed 9 year old Charles Lee Weaver of Arden. Humphreys had pleaded guilty to a reckless driving charge before Magistrate Ben M. Woliny yesterday and was fined $25 and costs. Continued on page six.

Recover Woman's Nude Body In Niagara River
In Niagara Falls New York a nude woman's body was recovered seven miles below the falls after police found a purse and keys near Horseshoe Falls. Coroner Emes said injuries suggested she was carried over the falls and matched a young Eggertsville housewife description though identification was not definite.
