Farmer Held on Murder Charge in Pendleton County
Edward Sites, 49, a farmer, was jailed without bail after a Pendleton County Grand Jury indicted him for murder in the death of neighbor Richard Hedrick, 26. Hedrick staggered from a cornfield last Saturday with a stomach wound and died after murmuring a dispute over corn stalks. Magistrate Dewey Moyers conducted the hearing.

Study of State Assessments to finish by Oct 15 1950
A state wide property assessment study will be completed by October 15, 1950, announced John D. Cole. Cole, president of Cole Lamer Trumble of Dayton Ohio, spoke at a joint meeting of state assessors and county commissioners. The 1947 law authorized pipe assessment survey to guide school funding if property is valued at 50 percent of true value, with state aid offsetting the remainder. Fee Lost Hunters Come Out Of Woods Early Today
Two men who were hunting near Petersburg Grant county re emerged from the woods at 2 am after a four hour trek. Deputies reported no ill effects though names were not learned. They were staying in a cabin rented from Virgil Goldizen. Fog hampered search efforts and the party near Hopeville was found near the mountain, while another trio of hunters found their way back to camp nearby.
