Flight display ends in crash killing two at Arnettsville
Lieutenant Loren H. Scott of Marietta Ohio aged 43 and Everett Arnholtz aged 23 of Coshocton Ohio died when the airplane Scott operated crashed during a Memorial Day exhibition at Arnettsville Monongalia County. Witnessed by about 2000 spectators the tragedy occurred as four planes and a glider performed. Scott had flown under nearby bridges and his 16 year old son helped operate the glider before the fatal crash ending the day’s aerial displays.

Los Angeles May 31 Otto Sanhuber and Mrs Walburga Oesterreich will face trial June 2 for the death of Fred Oesterreich Milwaukee garment factory ties cited. Oesterreich a wealthy Milwaukee and Los Angeles manufacturer was found shot in his home August 22 1922. Mrs Oesterreich survived after being found unconscious in a closet.

Memorial Day Observance Sees 23 Union Veterans Gather
Twenty three Union veterans attended Memorial Day exercises in Gratton on Friday. A dinner at White Oaks hosted by the local Sons of Veterans drew most guests, though the 22nd old soldier, Mr Hadlx, was absent. Attendees included Uriah Jones and several others from nearby counties, with a roster listing units from West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia and Cumberland, Maryland.
