CHARLES TOWN May 24 A fire at Vernon Turner’s farm home was placed on the investigation list by the state fire marshal. The blaze destroyed the dwelling and its contents. Magistrate James A. Smith said Turner’s daughter, who swore out a warrant against her father for intoxication, told him Turner burned the home. State Fire Marshal Ted Watkins issued the investigation order at Charleston.

Fred Grimes 33 of 130 Lincoln Street a Clarksburg Exponent linotype operator was slightly injured in a one car crash on Route 50 at 7 30 last night after attempting to avoid a dog. His 193? DeSoto ran off the road hit a ditch and overturned in a field. He suffered a cut on the head and right ankle. Trooper G F Randall quoted him as saying he was driving about 35 miles per hour and braked hard when the dog appeared. The machine was nearly a total wreck and may require repairs.
