Fugitives Still At Large Near Buckhannon After Camp Escape
Police continue a hunt for eight escapees from a road camp near Buckhannon. One was recaptured in Buckhannon, two more captured on U S Route 33 near Weston. The latest identified are 22 year old Carl Kessell of Kanawha County and 26 year old Charles C Chaffin of Wayne County. The men fled after scaling a nine foot fence Thursday night.

University Graduation Is On June 5
Final examinations at West Virginia University this week clear the stage for the eighty third Commencement and exercises. President James Phinney Baxter III of Williams College will deliver the Commencement address June 5 at 12 a.m. in the field house. About 2 060 candidates receive degrees, the largest class in the universitys history. The four day Commencement Week opens June 2 with an alumni party at the Hotel Morgan and the Alumni Senior Ball at Mountainlair.
