Gunman slays young Waterloo couple en route to dance
In Waterloo Illinois on May 15 an unidentified gunman killed Willard Wetzler 23 and Hat tie Grosse 21 as they rode toward a dance. A fleeing assailant followed by a car forced their vehicle off a road. Wetzler died. Grosse escaped briefly before being seized and shot at close range. Holt Raps Farm Bill As Unfair to West Virginia
Washington May 15 Senator Holt D West Virginia declared today West Virginia taxpayers will pay tires or tore dollars in taxes for every dollar that will go to the West Virginia farmers under the agriculture appropriation bill as passed by the senate. Holt, one of 14 Senators who voted against the measure, said there are too many rotten apples in this appropriation barrel and that the practice of adding millions of dollars to the bill with a yes or no vote is bad. Federal deficit doubles last year nearing four billion
