State Department to direct Spain loan talks with export bank
BULLETIN reports Spain will negotiate directly with the Export-Import Bank for an American government loan. In Baltimore three accused bank robbers and the wives of two of them faced receivership, named as Roy L. Mann of Labraton West Virginia, Carl and wife Latrobe Pennsylvania, and James Edward Bennett and wife Pittsburgh area. The men, brothers-in-law, allegedly stole over 34 thousand dollars in January and February from a bank and a building and loan association. FBI and state police pursued them across West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

Government planes sink six Bix warships near Nanking

In New York Mrs Geral dine Vetter faces trial for burning her nine year old son's hand with a gas flame as punishment. The boy Philip Vetter testified he loves his mother and cried after leaving the witness chair. A judge had him removed when he attempted to reach his mother. His right hand bears injuries with part of a finger amputated. He has been treated at Bellevue hospital since last Thanksgiving.

Industrial School Employee Found Dead in Morgantown
Umberto Vaglienti, 55, cabinet maker at West Virginia Industrial School for Boys, Pruntytown, was found dead in bed in the upstairs dining room area at 7:45 this morning. Coroner Ona C. Jefferys ruled a heart attack with no inquest. He served in World War II and left a son, Richard Vaglienti of Morgantown.
