Group Forms To Speed Up Work On Road
An organization named the Grafton Morgantown Improved Road Association formed after a 60-plus person meeting at Blueville. It aims to hard surface eight tenths of Route 56 between Grafton and Morgantown this summer to serve 15 families near Brownlow Park and others in Haymond settlement, allow use of the school, and transport pupils to Blueville grade school and Grafton high. W A Henderson named president with Percy Lucas as secretary. a standing committee led by Homer W Wilson and others will work with Road Supervisor W O Bolin to secure immediate action. The road, a seven year old macadam defect, is in poor condition and officials expect the state won’t finish Route 56 this year, so residents want at least improvement around Brownlow Park before winter.
