Stephen G. Porter longtime Republican leader and world figure dies at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness. The Pennsylvanian, 61, was stricken aboard a ship from London on June 11 and brought to Walter Reed then Pittsburgh. He helped shape Knox-Porter resolutions and advised Presidents Wilson and Harding on war and postwar policy. Continued on Page Two.

Lewis H Perry Dies Suddenly at 70 in Parsons
Word came from Grafton of the death of Lewis H Perry, 70, at Parsons after one day of heart trouble. He lived on Quality Hill and had 35 years as superintendent of Parsons tannery. Born February 5, 1860 in Elmira New York, he married in 1882 and is survived by his widow and one grandson. An active Republican, Mason, and bank director, he was known across Tucker County and often visited Grafton. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 PM from the family home with cemetery rites by Parsons Lodge A F and A M. Gold nuggets worth 54 were found in a hen’s gizzard near Salina Kansas.
