Senator Frank R. Gooding of Idaho, 69, former governor and longtime Republican senator, died at his daughter's home in Gooding Idaho after an operation this month. He had been ill since influenza in Washington last December and death was attributed to intestinal cancer. He began as Idaho governor during turbulent times with Big Hill Haywood trial, later led sheep business, won Senate seat in 1920, worked on freight rate surveys, drafted several rate bills, and served as chairman of a Senate committee.
