Unity demonstrations at major party gatherings in Charleston
In Charleston over the weekend both Democrats and Republicans staged unity events. Democrats rubbed shoulders and blasted Republicans at two meetings while Gov. William C. Marland and Rep. Robert H. Mollohan presented amicable fronts amid a heated primary. The GOP met to elect officers and named John D. Oblitzell as state committeeman amid unresolved rifts with Hallanan and other members.
