Court Asked to Buy Right of Way for State Route
Taylor county court has been asked to buy a right of way for a new state route across the Springs Hill from U S Route 50. The proposed cut off would connect U S 50 and 250 with State Route 56, allowing traffic from Elkins and Philippi to reach Clarksburg or Fort Mont and beyond while bypassing Grafton. County officials say no further rights of way for existing routes will be purchased, and the court may condemn property only if it proceeds. A local petition earlier urged the road commission to take the cut off up the creek corridor.
