Voters in Grafton will elect five councilmen in the city's first election under a new manager style government. Polls open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. About 5,800 registered voters may turnout. Eight candidates are listed: Gerkin, Dotson, Graham, Murray, Robinson, Wagner, Wiles, and Willhide. Two Missing Five Hurt In Blast At Pennsylvania Plant
In Edinburg Pennsylvania two men were killed and nine others injured when an explosion wrecked two buildings at the American Dynamics and Chemical Corp plant near the Lawrence county community. Names Merle Craven and Robert Downing from New Castle were identified among the dead. Police reported five injured and no missing in a second blast at the American Cyanamid plant nearby. Investigators described one building as the Jelly House where gelatin dynamite was made. State and city authorities rushed to clear traffic snarls caused by ambulances and cars.
