Two Bank Messengers Robbed in New York
Police reported two bank messengers were held up in the Bronx at Claremont Parkway and Washington Avenue. Three men in an automobile robbed Arthur Tricer and Theodore Frank of about $50,000 in cash or securities while transporting funds from the National City Bank and Trust Company. The robbers were armed but no shots were fired.

Company Officers Wounded In Alabama Mine Strike Violence
Three company officers were wounded during a fight near the Muscoda ore mine of Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad company as about 150 shots were fired. Bride killer given life in Beulah Cutshaw case
Logan June 2 The 26 year old miner D C Cutshaw was spared the death penalty by a jury and sentenced to life for the December 2 killing of his 15 year old bride Beulah Younce Cutshaw. He sobbed upon the sentence and said he was sorry he ever got involved. Judge Naaman Jackson praised the jury for leniency.
