Posse Hunts Man In Kentucky Rape Case
A 15 man posse led by a blood hound resumed a seven mile west search for a barefoot, shirtless suspect in the rape of a 31 year old school teacher near Morehead Kentucky. The man sought for questioning is 29. Sheriffs Green and Meyers led a group of state patrolmen and deputized locals. The search had been broken off earlier.

Bridge Described as Physical Wreck After 6-Day Inspection
A Charleston State Road Commission engineer concluded a six day inspection of the Tridge Street Bridge in Grafton finding it a physical wreck. He warned it must undergo complete repairs or be reconstructed. The city closed the bridge to traffic in late May due to hazardous conditions. Explosion Victim Loses Leg After Gary Blast
Mrs. Duskey says Kelso Ball, son in law of Mr. and Mrs. B C Duskey of 589 West Main, had his left leg amputated after an explosion at his Gary Indiana home on Saturday June 26. His other leg and an arm were broken, his four year old son Richard was killed. Mrs Ball, formerly Helen Duskey Ball, is recovering from second degree burns while attempting to save the child. Miss Jo Ann Duskey returned home after going to Gary.

July Fourth Weather Forecast Warms Up Citizens
Grafton residents learned the July Fourth forecast is warmer and partly cloudy with a cooler spell expected Monday. Early predictions of showers faded as officials reported a high of 80 degrees yesterday and a noon reading of 82 degrees following a low of 53 last night.
Fire Drives Crew From Dagmar Salen Off Delaware Coast
A 6,000-ton Dagmar Salen steamship burned off the Delaware Coast as the crew evacuated. Captain Sigurd Lowdal, his wife Annette, and son Claus Sigurd were rescued in a lifeboat. Seaman John Weller, 17, was treated in Baltimore for burns. Coast Guard foam and fog fought the blaze. the Dagmar Salen will be towed to Newport News once anchor current is provided.

Sokolovsky Refuses Berlin Food Blockade Lift Assurances
An American spokesman said Soviet Marshal Sokolovsky refused to assure Western commanders that the Berlin blockade would be lifted. Four Western commanders met at Sokolovsky’s residence to discuss the crisis, the first meeting since March 20. Robertson’s letter reportedly prompted the talks.
