John J. Ward a longtime Grafton resident and pressure recorder for Pittsburgh and West Virginia Gas died suddenly at Grafton City hospital after suffering acute pulmonary anemia. He was found incapacitated outside his office on Main Street after calling a taxi around 2:30 a.m. and collapsed while awaiting transport. Ward, born May 24, 1889, was married to Hester Smoot eighteen years ago and left no children. Continued on Page Six.
