Point Pleasant Woman Suffers Severe Burns
Miss Frances Aten, sister of County Clerk John G. Aten, suffered severe burns at her home when a lamp exploded after she threw water on the flame that had ignited wallpaper and wet plaster. The accident occurred in Point Pleasant on December 29 at an unspecified time.

Armed Bank Robber Hideout Found Near Freeburn Kentucky
Heavily armed officers moved into a wooded mountain area seven miles from Freeburn to capture a bandit who robbed the Merchants and Miners bank of six thousand seven hundred dollars. Wrappers from paper money were found in Peter's Creek district along with a safety razor blade. The robber, described as unmasked and armed with a pistol, stopped at a watchman’s booth to warm himself and dropped a dollar. Deputies guarded the area all night as the bandit was tracked two miles from Peter's Creek before vanishing.
