Two railroad workers were killed and six injured when an empty passenger train rear ended another at Long Island City Queens. Normal Long Island Railroad service was not restored until midnight, with 25 000 to 30 000 commuters stranded at peak rush hour.
One of four boy quadruplets born to Madame Andree Sorel at Sail ly-Salllisel near Lille died last night. The remaining three are reported in satisfactory health, each weighing about two pounds and kept in an incubator.
Representative Hedrick of West Virginia claims a trillion dollar scale reduction is possible in the Marshall plan, citing a 12,000 mile Europe tour. He cites Italy and England as the most needy nations remaining in the plan.
In Wichita Falls Texas two five year old boys Billy Rogers and Donnie Tolton died late yesterday after being struck by a bulldozer while playing in a shallow gully. A dog led searchers to the scene along the Wichita River after a five hour hunt. The bulldozer belonged to Billy’s father and was used by his construction company for leveling work. The operator Leon Trice recalled warning the boys to stay back before the incident.
Kentucky authorities add conservation law charge to a murder count against 17 year old Glen H Howard Maynard of New Camp. He is free on $5,000 bond after the fatal shooting of 16 year old Juanita Storridge, a Belfry High freshman, who died from a shotgun wound to the left shoulder. Maynard says the gun went off accidentally as he slipped from a friend’s car gunboard.
French Premet Georges Bidault warns of fresh nationwide elections as deputies resist his tax proposal. He demanded a formal vote of confidence after rebellious deputies balked at the finance plan.

Charleston reports the state supreme court reversed three Workmen's Compensation Bond rulings from its September term. One order set aside a 30 percent disability award to Ben Burgett of Holden Logan County after a prior denial for lack of medical evidence. The court found no evidence to support a stronger claim.

Eleven airmen from Chatham Air Force field died when a B 50 crash landed and burned in a Savannah river marsh seven miles northwest of the city. Rescue teams reached the scene amid marsh mud and inaccessible terrain as they searched for remains and identified the plane took off at 9 12 p m on a routine training flight for El Paso Texas. The list of personnel was not released pending identification and notification of next of kin.

Tomorrow the local SA staff will travel to Philippi where Philippi high school students donated toys for local children.
