Tunnelton Girl Dies After Dress Fire Jump
A 19 year old Tunnelton girl, Erelyn Marie Bolyard, died from third degree burns after her clothing caught fire while trying to light a gas stove. She jumped from a third story window at a Cumberland Maryland hotel room, suffered serious injuries in the fall, and died next morning at Cumberland Hospital. She was survived by her parents Lonzo and Ethel Bolyard of Tunnelton, a brother Charles Bolyard, two sisters Marylin Bolyard and Beatrice Fontain, and half siblings Ruth Traws, Clara Glave, and Clarence Bolyard among others. Funeral services will be held at Mt Israel Church with burial at Mt Calvary Cemetery under Knotts Funeral Home.
