City police seek 18 year old Tacy Still
City police are still searching for 18 year old Carl Tacy of Woodford addition who ran from a patrolman en route to Taylor county jail Thursday morning. He had been sentenced to 60 days in the county jail for assault and drunkenness and fled across the railroad foot bridge to South Grafton after being taken from Patrolman Hugh Woodford. He was first arrested about 11 30 o clock Wednesday by Patrolmen Messenger and Snider for intoxication. Mrs Sarah Cline, a waitress, later secured a warrant charging him with assault at her workplace.

Seven Die In B-25 Bomber Crash Near Robeline
SHREVEPORT La Dec 18 seven men were killed when a B-25 bomber nose dived into a pasture 75 miles southeast of Shreveport and exploded. Witnesses described wreckage scattered over four acres and a crater as big as a car. The Barksdale base said the plane was en route from Biggs AFB El Paso to Miami with five airmen and two Navy hitchhikers aboard. Names will be released after next of kin notification. Some personnel were on leave. Shattered Christmas gifts were found at the scene. Two witnesses said the plane hit about 300 yards from a dirt road four miles from Robeline.

60 Prisoners To Be Home For Yuletide
Charleston dispatch reports the first of about 60 prisoners to receive Christmas paroles will be released from state penal institutions. Governor Meadows granted a pardon that freed former police chief James Childers of Ronceverte from further penalties in the fatal shooting case. Childers, who had been paroled last Christmas, was sentenced to one to five years for voluntary manslaughter in Daniel Boone’s death. One woman from Pens Springs prison was among those to receive parole. Names of prisoners remain undisclosed, but three life-term inmates for first degree murder are included, each having served more than ten years.
