The Salvation Army youth will present a Christmas play titled Gifts from the Christmas on Sunday night December 18 1955 with the adult choir providing music. Grafton residents heard a financial report on the Cemetery Hill water storage project. Acting City Manager Walter H Wolfe logged costs totaling about 25 984 with 14 634 paid for the tank and 11 500 to H and L Construction Co of Kingwood for work on the system serving East Side Eweville and Brownlow Park. The project replaces the aging north hill steel tank, uses Equitable Gas equipment for ditching not in city figures, and labor was city provided. The filter bed was laid and freight from B and O cost 740. The tank work, excluding cover and fence, should be completed in five good weather days.

Senator Estes Kefauver plans to broaden his Democratic presidential primary schedule to Wisconsin and possibly Florida. Florida would be May 29 and would square off with rival Adlai Stevenson who and Kefauver have already agreed to meet in California on June 5. Kefauver told Maryland Democrats in Baltimore that he has no wish to attack other candidates.
United Nations delegates held urgent talks to break a deadlock in the Security Council election. The 10th annual session extended to midnight Tuesday as the General Assembly plans a Friday adjournment and reconvenes to decide which nation will fill the vacant Council seat in January.

He urged Germany not to pursue separate talks with the Soviets while French British and American officials draft a joint declaration urging Arabs and Jews toward peace. President Dwight D. Eisenhower underwent a detailed medical examination in Gettysburg to assess whether his heart attack recovery was affected by resumed activity. Dr. Paul Dudley White and the attending physicians conducted the checkup, with White traveling from Baltimore after attending a heart specialists' meeting.
