Applications for license plates short deadline urged
Charleston December 17. The Satinfac ory Hcerse plate service is assured by S P Smith Registrar of Motor Vehicles of the State Road commission to all motor vehicle owners who send their applications in early. Only about 30 000 applications have been received of the 150 000 expected before December 31 Mr Smith points out that the Automobile Bureau is ready to handle all applications promptly if received in time but cannot possibly do so if scores of thousands wait until the last week of the year. The process of making application has been simplified so owners need only sign their name on the card mailed to them and mail the card with the fee to the State Road Commission. they will receive plates by return mail. New plates may be used on and after December 22 and motorists should keep this date in mind. The State Road Commission desires to give good service and will do so unless the task is made impossible. Any owner who has not received an application card due to address change or other reasons is asked to notify the Automobile Bureau and a card will be mailed promptly.
