The Taylor county Sunday School convention held at the Christian Church on McGraw avenue elected officers for the new year. Dewey Jones was named president with Kerns as associate president and Una St Clair as secretary treasurer. Ethel Jones was chosen for the children’s division superintendent and Mrs Ralph Watkins as assistant. The afternoon program featured a visit to the Industrial School and pastoral addresses, while O J Morrison of Charleston spoke at night along with a showing of the film Faith Triumphant by Rev Z B Edworthy.

Montgomery Aug 18 Roy Lockett 30 of Amherst Vermont was injured along with three other people in a crash between a car and a truck near Falls View. Mrs J B Ernest and daughter Marguerite of Vallejo California were traveling with Lockett when the wreck occurred en route to California.
Nineteen year old Helen Vooros testified before the Dies committee that a German American band camp on Long Island mixed male and female youth in a way she found immoral. She described plans to attack her and said her quit was due to the leader’s behavior. She noted parents complained and cited close proximity of boys and girls as problematic.
