The Immigration Service announced two major changes in deportation procedures aimed at speeding up returns. In unrelated items, wartime politics, state appointments, and presidential campaign hints appear in brief notices from Washington and various cities.
The 1955-56 budget is reduced from 208,922.83 to 200,602.42 after City officials corrected an error. The revised figures were approved by the State Tax Commissioner in Charleston following a conference with City Manager J. Frank Wiseman. Public questioning will occur when presented to Council next Tuesday.
Eleven American airmen released by Red China after more than two years in prison spent an afternoon in the Far East before their Wednesday flight home. They leave Tachikawa Air Base at 1 pm for Travis Air Force Base on two C54 transports via Midway Island and Hickam Field, Hawaii, and are to arrive Friday near San Francisco. No family reunions are planned at Travis.

A despondent farming couple William Martin aged 63 and Louise Martin 61 killed themselves by standing arm in arm on a Pennsylvania Railroad main line in Bowling Green Ohio They parked at a crossing waited for the eastbound Red Arrow express then faced the engine before stepping aside too late The coroner stated both died instantly while Martin left a note saying they cannot stand it any longer both had been frail from illness reportedly.
The Tri County area enjoyed a brief heat break with daytime highs near 80 and evening chills around 60. Forecasts show milder conditions today and tonight with highs from 77 to 83 and a low of 58 to 65 under cloudy skies and little chance of precipitation.
Providence, R. I. Police charged Earl Moison, 22, of Woonsocket, in district court with ending an argument by chasing another motorist and bumping his fender four times. Judge George A. Beaudet fined Moison $25 for each bump.
Washington report notes Brenda and Russ of Trenton Tenn and Adelaide Titus of Ocean City NJ were slated for inauguration today as president and vice president of Girls Nation, reflecting the event in the capital.
Taylor County pupils began polio vaccine clinics with Salk shots at East Grafton School and Pruntytown at 10 30 this morning. Second doses may be given to those who had first shots last spring. Remaining clinics are set for Flemington West Grafton and Grafton Junior High with times noted.

Charleston will host a Ground Observer Corps filter center employing about 500 volunteers. Located within two blocks of the state capitol, the center is under construction and will serve posts in West Virginia, eastern Ohio, eastern Kentucky, and southwest Virginia. Major Warren T. Lenhart stated the facility will monitor posts south of Spruce Knob to Sistersville on the Ohio River.
Two Boston men James Ashford aged 43 and Thomas S. Davis aged 28 were ordered held in 25000 dollars bail in Cambridge on Monday. They allegedly approached homes offering window washing then ransacked unoccupied houses to loot valuables and fill their buckets with loot.

Coast guard officials reported crewmen extinguished a fire in the hold of the 7,210-ton American freighter Sea Leader, a coal carrier en route to Inchon, after it flared in the Pacific off Holkside Island. The vessel will proceed to a northern Japanese port for a survey of damages.
