Ten Die Violent Deaths In State Over Weekend Three Are Teachers
At least 10 persons died in weekend accidents in West Virginia including three school teachers. A father and daughter drowned in the Cacapon River in Hampshire County. A Nicholas County auto crash killed three, and two more highway deaths occurred in Boone and Barbour Counties. An Ohio woman perished in a Doddridge County plane crash and a Fayette County woman drowned near Thurmond. A four year old girl was accidentally shot to death in Putnam County. The Nicholas County victims were Ernestne Williams 44 Flora Robey 55 and Christine Callaghan 29 all of Shinnston. They were in a car with Miss Williams driving when it collided with Russell O Rose 38 of Richwood. Rose was hospitalized in serious condition and a warrant for negligent homicide was held. Jasper Elder 63 and his daughter Blaine Elder 21 drowned in the Cacapon River while wading at Cacapon Springs. The elder party had arrived for a vacation accompanied by Mrs Elder.
