14 Houses and Store Wiped Out by Fire Near Taeger
A major fire destroyed 14 houses and a company store near Taeger in about 90 minutes. Fifty-five people were left homeless but uninjured as investigators traced the blaze to two boys lighting a fire under a frame house. Firemen from Welch and nearby towns struggled due to water shortages, then water was hauled in by the Norfolk and Weston railroad. Stolen Safe Found Near Nestorville
Philipppi State Police report recovery of a battered empty safe and $2,500 taken from Dorsey Kelley’s store at Nestorville the day before. The safe was found several miles away broken open with sledge, nearby papers of Kelley. An automobile stolen from John F. Man Hurt Fined In Auto Accident Near Morgantown
