A Saturday evening fire destroyed the Ben Reeves cattle barn east of Graettinger. Prompt neighbor help and a passing silo filling crew with a water tank kept the blaze from reaching the horse barn, double crib, and granary. The wind aided firefighters, and the loft hay caused rapid combustion. Reeves lost 10 to 12 tons of alfalfa hay valued over 200 dollars and some corn. The property owner is A. N.
