Neighbors Shingle Barn After Fire And Aid Ill Owner

About six weeks ago Frank Christiansen of west of town lost his newly built barn to a fire. Four weeks later he suffered a jaw swelling and hospital confinement. While he healed, 26 neighbors shingled the barn, laying 28 000 shingles in one day. Christiansen thanks friends and hopes for full recovery, with the Times sharing his gratitude. The voting contest at Wiegmann store draws interest as candidates enter the Stutz Junior car race. next week the Times will publish leading candidates.

Bishop Heelan to Confirm Fifty at Local Church

Bishop Heelan of Sioux City will confirm about fifty youths at the Catholic church next Thursday. High Mass will be celebrated at nine o'clock, followed by the confirmation exercises. The bishop last visited four years ago, and the church is expected to be packed for the morning ceremony.

Paulsen Stirs Baseball Night With Record Win
