Masters Debuts With First TD In Dubuque Win

Mike Masters played his first college game for the University of Dubuque in a season opener on Saturday September 3 securing the team's first opening day victory since 1973. He caught a 29 yard pass from Rick Steil for the score then rushed 15 times for 55 yards. The freshman expressed pride and excitement about starting the year on the field.

Obituary for Richard L. Grethen of Estherville dies at 52

Richard L. Grethen, 52, rural Estherville, died August 30, 1977 at his farm. Services were held at Estherville Lutheran Church with Rev. Stanley Eyberg officiating. Interment in Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. Survived by wife Helen, four grandchildren, two daughters and four sons, along with four sisters and two brothers. He was born August 11, 1925 in Ayrshire.
