Stolen car found near West Bend after robbery
Two men Eli Grimm and Ed Bunwart found a Hudson automobile believed used by bank robbers near West Bend, guiding sheriff Jackson who advised custody by the owners. Vehicle abandoned northeast of West Bend with no usable clues, gas tank empty, two occupants unseen, date reported as Saturday afternoon.

Birkland Family In Auto Accident Near Ames
A few weeks ago north of Ames a car crash injured Eunlee Birkland and left her brother, Mra. J. Z. Birkland, unconscious. Other occupants, Mr. Birkland and Mra. J. A. Early, escaped with minor injuries. The car left the road on fresh gravel, plunged down a ten foot embankment, and struck a telephone pole. Eunlee Birkland was hospitalized in Amos for about two weeks for arm injuries.

Robbers Hit Dunnell Bank In Morning Explosion
Robbers entered the First National Bank at Dunnell just north of Estherville around 1 30 am Tuesday. They blew the safe and escaped with 1100 in cash and 8000 in liberty bonds. An adding machine and a book pasting machine were taken. the explosion hurled the adding machine and the safe door across the street. Town residents learned of the robbery only in the morning.

Care With Horse Feed for Different Work Loads
Animal husbandry experts at Town State College urge careful, gradual dietary changes for horses. Mature animals in work need different rations than younger stock, with corn and timothy hay preferred over alfalfa or bran due to protein levels. Oats are acceptable, horses have small stomachs, and feed should be hay plus grain in proportion to weight. Moderate work: 14 pounds hay and 1 to 1.5 pounds grain per 100 pounds body weight. extra heavy work up to 1.75 pounds grain per 100 pounds. When work ends, reduce grain to prevent lameness, and ensure regular exercise to avoid damage.
