Last Thursday and Friday teachers attended the regular county institute in Emmetsburg with lectures by Dr. Colegrove Dr. Kirby and Dr. Abbott. The event featured a girls glee club performance and a county su perintendents meeting planning activities and a busy basketball schedule for Ayrshire and surrounding towns. Des Moines Saint Marys falls to Des Moines 14 to 6 for the northwest Iowa Catholic championship. Emmetsburg defeats Spirit Lake 13 to 0 in a hard fought game. Cold snap brings frost and light snow, good weather for husking.
