Lake Center Child Crushed By Heavy Truck
A 38 year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Abe Zerstrow, was crushed to death Thursday when a gravel truck rolled over his chest. The truck was driven by the boy’s uncle, a brother of Mrs Zerstrow. Achievement day for the third year in Emmet county was held in Esther ville court room on Saturday October 17. Miss Elizabeth Morrell lectured on five lessons for baskets trays lamp shades and other household items. Mrs. Matsen Dies After Illness in Nebraska
Mrs. Peter Matsen of Nelson Nebraska died after a serious illness. Her Graettinger sisters Mrs. Jed Simonsen and Mrs. Ole Sorensen left for Nelson to be with her. She was a sister of Mrs. Hans Duus of Graettinger and Chris Jensen of Ruthven. Mr Matsen died a year ago. they lived in Graettinger years ago and came from Minnesota. Postmaster O H Raleigh of Graettinger underwent an intestinal operation at Immanuel hospital in Mankato Monday. He was listed very serious through Tuesday night but rallied in the late afternoon and now has a fighting chance, though conditions remain grave. Mrs Raleigh and the children had traveled to visit family when the illness struck.
