PAYS TO PRODUCE EGGS OF QUALITY IN POULTRY
Extension poultryman O Ufford of Colorado Agricultural College urges poultrymen to feed cleanly to raise high quality eggs. He emphasizes the role of wood mash and ground seeds, access to clean water, green feed in moderation, and minerals for efficient production. Dirty litter threatens flock health in poultry operations
The article argues dirty litter endangers chicks by inviting disease and parasites like coccidiosis. It warns that workers may feed crushed grain into dirty litter, causing birds to ingest waste and pathogens. It urges finding methods to keep chicks from eating litter and to improve litter cleanliness despite persistent intestinal issues.
Proper Ration For Profitable Egg Production
Proper ration if you are to get eggs in sufficient numbers to be profitable, the layers must have animal proteins in their food, such as are supplied in a good laying mash. It cannot be done with grain alone, they will lay for a little while on grain but they are using up their body reserves to do it. When this body reserve is gone the laying period finishes. If their bodies were well nourished with a well balanced ration, they will last longer to lay than a flock that was poorly fed, but this body reserve will have to be built up again before laying birds will lay again.

Scotland Yard A History From Royal Home To Police HQ
Scotland Yard grew from a royal residence at Great Scotland Yard in Whitehall to the London Metropolitan Police headquarters. It housed kings and dignitaries, then figures such as Cromwell's secretary, Wren and Vanbrugh, and later Marshalsea court before Sir Robert Peel established the police force. In 1800 the headquarters moved to New Scotland Yard along the Thames embankment near Westminster Bridge, designed by Richard Norman Shaw. The old name endures in common usage for the police, despite the move.
