Forehead wound may prove fatal for Lawrence Rubel
Lawrence Rubel, the 15 year old son of Mr and Mrs Jake Rubel, suffered a self inflicted gunshot to the forehead at a pump station. The bullet fractured the skull but spared the brain. Surgeons Dr Crotzmeyer and Dr Crtzmeyar operated to relieve brain pressure and Lawrence remains conscious but weak. He was carried to Miss Rose Laughlin’s home for nursing care after being found on the ground below the building. The incident occurred while he apparently stood on a cupola at the station. The exact details are not yet known. Friends hope for his recovery.

'The con sideration for the Kane land won $166 per gore. We have not learned the price received for the other farms. Mr. Lippold has been very active in the real estate business during the past year and has made a nice bunch of money,-Emmetsburg Democrat.

Farmers Supply Company sold five Titan tractors last week to buyers including Gerald Thoresen Nela Meng and A D Moraine. A large number of tractors were sold this year says Mr Johngan. A gold dollar dance is planned October 16 at Woodman hall with music by the Bartleman orchestra. The first lecture in the year’s course, The Althea Philers, drew strong attendance at the opera house Tuesday.
