The Overland stock car, after 6,452 miles on Indiana roads, set a remarkable record racing the hour hand on the Indianapolis Speedway. Driven by four amateurs in two hour shifts, it exceeded 1,000 miles in under 24 hours on the brick track, with minimal repairs to the rough road bed.
A light car with muffler removed completed a dramatic night test on a two and a half mile oval. Observed by Hoosier Motor Club officials it showed stamina and economy by covering 4528 miles in 168 hours and 1000 miles in under 24 hours, indicating a new union of efficiency and endurance on the American highway. The run was noted in Cedar Rapids Republican. Wages for corn picking discussed by Emmet County Farm Bureau set at six to eight cents per bushel depending on corn condition and elevator availability. Farmers urged to list needed workers and start husking planning at the Farm Bureau office.
