FFA Seniors Buy Own Farm Under Teacher Mr. Moser

Pirettes Lose to Sioux Valley at Linn Grove

The Pirettes were defeated by Sioux Valley Soo's 8 to 3 at Linn Grove on September 23. Sioux Valley built early runs, with Pirettes scoring in the fourth and fifth. Winterhouse earned the win, McQuown took the loss with Jani Cox relieving. Beck Weber led with a triple for the Pirettes as Robin Anderson Cox Sampson and Shelly added singles.

Spirit Week Activities Highlight Homecoming Week

October 5 through 10 features class competitions for freshmen to seniors with themed days Hat Day Stomp Em Jersey Day Sock it to Em Kiss a Pirate and more. A baby picture contest costs a quarter to enter with a 5 prize and 20 class points. Mr Muscle voting and a pep rally skit winner earn 100 points. Spirit discs sell for 5 cents.

Pirettes Fall to Ramettes in Close Grafettger Tilt

Graettinger Pirettes lost to Ruthven Ramettes 5 to 7 on September 24. Ruthven built leads, Graettinger tied with a two run burst in the second, then Ruthven pulled ahead again in the fourth and sixth. Ruthven pitcher Rhonda Meyer fanned four while walking four. South Pacific Rehearsal Progress Report

Terry Heller connected with Tim Lewers for a 13 yard TD, Tim Leness added a 2 yard score, and Tim Leners notched an 8 yard run as Pat Brobst and the team conversions padded the lead. Coach Yarnes praised hustle while noting blocking and defense held Emmetsburg Catholic out of the 20. Next game is Oct 1 at Ruthven Jr High.
