More than 1,200 area high school football players have attended Iowa Lakes Community College home games thanks to local businessmen. Invitations went to 19 high schools across five counties, with firms including Graettinger State Bank, Hy-Vee Estherville, West Bend Elevator Co, A and W Root Beer Emmetsburg, Hammond Oil Estherville, and several others.

Dennis Fude of rural Graettinger Iowa a May 1975 Mankato State University accounting graduate has been placed by the MSU Center for Career Development and Placement with the H E W Audit Agency in Springfield Illinois as an Auditor Trainee.

The Graettinger High School class of 1925 held a reunion at the Happy Hour Cafe on Sunday September 14 with 12 of 19 living members present. A.P. Thompson served as Master of Ceremonies as a program and remarks followed a social hour. photos were taken and many attendees listed their locations. Deceased members are noted and several attendees sent letters and pictures in place of absence.
Graettinger fell to Lincoln Central 8 to 5 in the sectional semifinal. Lincoln Central had 7 hits and 9 errors, while Graettinger posted 5 hits and 6 errors. Winning pitcher Simon recorded 1 strikeout and 2 walks. Marjie McQuown took the loss with no strikeouts and a walk. Graettinger hitters included Jackie Kulow with a double and a single, Marjie McQuown a double, and Tammy Kulow Jane Kempf and Shelly Cox each with a single.
