George Meiners and Virgie Meiner Wed in Ringsted

George Meiners of Ringsted Iowa and Virgie L Miner of Graettinger Iowa were joined in marriage at the Baptist parsonage 709 E Des Moines St Ringsted on Wednesday November 15 at noon. Rev J Arthur Hurley officiated with Gladys Miner and C Meiners as attendants. The couple left for a wedding trip to Kewanee Illinois and other points and will reside on a farm two miles south of Ringsted.

Auto Fees Gauge McCarter Fine And License Lapses

The Spencer Reporter notes state auto men collected 26 dollars in fees and penalties from W. J. McCarter of Spencer after he appeared before Justice Bender and was fined for operating a motor truck without a license. They also fined a Dickinson county man who reported his Hudson stored and used borrowed plates for a Ford without a registration card, totaling 103 dollars 90 cents to settle.

Two sales are set in the territory next week. On Tuesday November 28 the G I Moore estate closing out sale will be held on the farm two miles east of Wallingford along the gravel road. Poland China breeder TR Hepp of Wallingford visits Times

Successful breeder TR Hepp of Wallingford was in brief at the Times office Saturday. Hepp ships Poland China hogs to governors and buyers in Indiana and Oregon. A daughter of a hog shipped to Indiana's governor won first and grand champion at the Indiana state fair. Hepp says he saved 109 pigs from 18 sows last spring.

Roseland Youth Dies After Surgical Operation

Lars Roseland of St James Minnesota died following a surgical operation for intestinal trouble. He was about twenty five, survived by his parents Mr and Mrs Sam Roseland and six siblings. Funeral was held in St James with relatives attending from Lost Island area.

Red Cross Annual Roll Call Under Way This Month

The Red Cross Society conducts its annual roll call during November and December. Members may pay the $1.00 fee at their bank to receive a membership receipt. The drive aims to document World War service and wartime wounds to aid in obtaining government compensation.
