Graettinger High School operetta impresses crowds at Mawkeye Theatre
Graettinger High School presented Misa Cherry Blossom to a packed Mawkeye Theatre audience on Thursday night. Director Miss Alice Coates and accompanist Miss Marguerite Raiche led a large cast including Florence Conway as Cherry Blossom and Donald Bartleman as Kokomo, with musical interludes by Willis Noble Bob Jensen and others. The performance earned enthusiastic praise for all cast and chorus members and featured several instrumental numbers, a trumpet duet, and a saxophone solo by a substitute performer. The event closed with thanks to teachers, staff, and local sponsors for piano access and stage support.

Thoreson Case Settled Out Of District Court
A $2000 suit by Albert and Mrs Thorson of Dolliver against the Lutheran Brotherhood was settled out of court as the Brotherhood paid $1250. A jury had been drawn. the dispute centered on a $1000 double indemnity life policy issued a week before Lester Thorson, 19, was killed in a car crash west of Del lister. The policy was not paid due to premium issues. Agents reported the father agreed to cover the first premium, but could not locate the agents to arrange payment.
