Brekke Lost Damage Case In District Court
In Emmetsburg district court last week the judge withdrew the case from the jury and ruled for the defendant in Brekke versus Rothermel. Brekke previously won $2,200 two years ago, but the Supreme Court ordered a new trial. Brekke sought damages for his young son who suffered permanent ear drum injuries when struck by Rothermel’s car. The boy was in first grade at the time.
