Funeral for Kent at Catholic church Friday at ten. Bisgard funeral held Monday. Mr Gillespie, father of Mrs M J Reidy, died after a week long illness of chronic bronchitis. He was born in Ireland December 18 1839 and would have been 80 next month. The Times extends sympathy to families.

Methodist ministers to receive 40 percent salary boost

The Methodist Episcopal church announced an average 40 percent salary increase for ministers nationwide to offset rising living costs. 1918 salaries averaged $1,111, with new average around $1,500. In Boone, the former mayor sold land in Clay County at a $24,000 profit.
